Start With What Players Need Now

Friendly Steps is now released on Steam, so this hub prioritizes live player tasks: launch fixes, the Beginner Guide, Co-op Guide, controls, demo history, and source-linked reference pages.

Patch 1.7.1

Difficulty balance, rope stuck fixes, foot-shadow fixes, and Steam failed to initialise troubleshooting.

Controls and co-op

Independent leg movement, Beginner Guide basics, Co-op Guide pacing, No Collision, Collision, and Hardcore notes.

Release reference

Steam release status, system requirements, demo notes, achievements, and source records stay available.

Launch Week Checks

Patch 1.7.1 was recorded on September 4, 2026 UTC as build 25113582. Next checks are exact default inputs, current demo visibility, reported issues in the full build, and separation between demo achievements and release-version unlocks.

The homepage stays focused on player decisions: launch fixes, movement settings, Beginner Guide starts, Co-op Guide setup, PC readiness, and demo context.

After release, the hub changes shape: release status becomes a supporting availability note, controls add exact bindings, known issues separate fixed reports from live bugs, and achievements grow from demo evidence into a real completion index.

The goal is simple: every page helps a player make the next decision, not just repeat the game's name.
