Friendly Steps Known Issues

Quick answer

This issue library separates reported demo problems from fixes improved in demo v1.4.4 and items that still need release-version confirmation.

Won't Launch

Reported demo launch failures need current-build checks before they count as release bugs. Verify Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 11 support, GPU driver updates, Steam file verification and antivirus quarantine history before escalating.

Stuck On Loading

Loading hangs were reported before release and need version labels. Demo v1.4.4 improved some demo behavior, but release-version loading reliability is still unconfirmed. Note whether audio continues, whether the window responds, and how long the loading state lasts.

Won't Close

If Friendly Steps does not close cleanly, record whether it happens from the menu, Alt+F4, Steam stop button or Task Manager. Treat old demo reports as reported-only unless the release build reproduces the same close behavior.

Right Leg Stuck

A right-leg-stuck report belongs in the issue library, but physics awkwardness is not automatically a defect. Confirm whether the leg ignores input after a reset, whether rope tension caused the state, and whether demo v1.4.4 or the release version still reproduces it.

Controller Not Working

SteamDB currently lists full controller support, so controller problems should be troubleshot as device, Steam Input or build-specific issues first. Check Steam Input settings, reconnect the controller before launch, test wired mode and note whether menus or only leg controls fail.

Microphone And Voice Chat

For microphone or voice chat issues, separate game voice support from platform voice options. Confirm Windows input device, Steam voice settings, privacy permissions and whether the issue is in-game chat, party chat or a separate app.

Resolution And Display

Resolution, fullscreen and display scaling reports should include monitor resolution, refresh rate, Windows scale percentage, borderless/fullscreen mode and GPU. Final display options need release-version confirmation before the page lists permanent fixes.

How To Report A Clean Case

A useful report includes build version, demo or full release status, solo or online co-op, input device, hardware specs, steps to reproduce, what recovered the session and whether demo v1.4.4 improved the symptom.
